Abstract: The reaction of ammonium chloride with zinc oxide was studied kinetically and thermogravimet rically. Reaction products were identified by IR spectroscopy and Xray powder diffraction. Ammonium chlorozincates were found to form in the reaction and to decompose to zinc chloride.
