Реферат: The effect of adding oxygen or hydrogen to a reaction mixture (CH4 + N2) on the pyrolysis of methane in the temperature range of 700 to 1400°C over an electrically heated fechral coil precalcinated in air is studied. It is shown that the process occurs in two temperature regions that differ from each other in their selectivity toward the main products (C2 hydrocarbons) under the conditions of both anoxic and oxidative pyrolysis at methane/oxygen ratios of 15/1 and 9/1. When hydrogen is added, the pyrolysis of methane occurs only at high temperatures with the formation of acetylene predominating. Adding both hydrogen and oxygen shifts the methane conversion and selectivity maximum toward acetylene to higher temperatures, thus enhancing the operational temperature range of the catalyst.
