Abstract:
The paper presents the rheological behavior study results of the plastic carbon composites representing the carbon black and dispersing medium mixture. Water solutions and polymer dispersions were added into the composites as a dispersing medium. Plastic carbon composites were found out to show the dilatant or pseudoplastic flow behavior depending on the polymer type. Viscosity and high elasticity modulus variation experimental dependences on the type and amount of polymer in the plastic carbon composite were obtained. It was found out that carbon composites possessing the dilatant properties and having the elastic deformation modulus of 0.2-0.6·107 N/m2 and viscosity in the range of 1-4·109 Pa∙s should be used for obtaining complex carbon profiles by extrusion.
