Abstract:
Magnetic characteristics of Co films on a surface of Cu are calculated numerically within the spin density functional theory. The energy efficiency of the antiferromagnetic and ferromagnetic configurations at different layer thicknesses is studied. The magnetic moments of atoms, and the energy and parameter of the magnetic anisotropy of the Co/Cu/Co structure are determined with allowance for spin‒orbit coupling, depending on the orientation of the surface’s face.
