Abstract: The influence of the solvent nature, as well as the catalytic system used (including the state of the active center) on the yield of liquid products and the conversion of the organic matter of sapropel in the catalytic hydrofluidization process are given in the article. It is shown that the liquid products yield is mainly influenced by the nature of the catalyst and the maximum yield is achieved using a cobalt-molybdenum catalyst with preliminary sulfidation. The nature of the solvent influences the conversion of the oranic matter. It was found that the destruction of the organic part of sapropel in decalin is almost two times more completely than in ethanol.
