Abstract:
The possibility of carbon-carbon nanocomposites obtaining by mechanical activated dehydrochlorination of polyvinyl chloride in the presence of potassium hydroxide and nanoglobular carbon in a high-energy centrifugal planetary mill was evaluated. The synthesis of such nanocomposites is based on the formation of conjugated polymers (polyvinylenes) as a result of the dehydrochlorination of the initial polymer and the subsequent thermal polycondensation of polyvinylene chains with the formation of amorphous carbon structures. The structure of nanocomposite carbon materials with nanoglobular carbon particles embedded in an amorphous carbon matrix was confirmed by Raman spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy. The obtained results can be considered as a promising basis for solving the problem for the development of technologically acceptable methods of a dioxin-free processing of PVC wastes into demanded carbon materials.
