Abstract:
Cellular carbon has been prepared by pyrolysis of a propane—butane mixture in a flow reactor at 700–1250 K. Its structural characteristics were studied by scanning electron microscopy, high resolution transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction and adsorption methods. It was shown that cell-type carbon possesses a unique structure in contrast to carbon composite “Sibunnit” and filamentous carbons and it may be a promising support for catalyst preparation.
