Abstract:
Certain results of investigation of mechanisms and kinetics of deactivation of the main active centers in bifunctional reforming catalysts (Pt or Pt-Re, Pt-Sn, Pt-In on aluminium oxide), are presented. Regularities of platinum deactivation processes in metallic and electron-deficient states, as well as deactivation of aprotic-acid centers (Al3+), were considered. It is pointed out that considerable change in the ratio of the catalyst active center number in the course of catalytic process results in the change of reaction rate ratio and, consequently, in general selectivity of aromatic hydrocarbons formation. Therefore, selection of the optimal ratio of active centers in the catalyst preparation should be made on the basis of detailed study of their deactivation.
